Season 1 – Episode 4: The Deal with Steel
In the Repurposed Season 1 finale, John Sacco concludes his journey at the SSAB steel mill in Muscatine, Iowa, where we hear how this country makes “green” steel to become more energy efficient and less impactful to our environment, which altogether supports our communities. SSAB moves toward new technologies and routes in manufacturing that will ultimately result in lower greenhouse gas emissions to make their company and environment more sustainable for future generations.
In Episode 3, we watched as recycled metal was melted down into molten steel and learned the steelmaking process, but there’s more to the story. The steelmaking process continues in Episode 4, where the molten steel is shaped and turned into new steel plates and coils.
